10 years ago, with great trepidation (and a lot of excitement) we bottled a small release of our flagship Fino leaving out the usual filtering and clarification process and named it Tio Pepe Fino En Rama.
The project was born in our bodega in Jerez when our winemaker Antonio Flores was sampling Tio Pepe straight from the barrel and wishing everyone could experience Fino like this at its optimum freshness, super-charged with flavour. In spring 2009 we released an exclusive bottling of Tio Pepe Fino En Rama. Unsure of how the wine would develop, and focused on recreating that “straight from the barrel” experience, the first bottling went out with a 3-month suggested drinking window.
This first release sold out within days and reviews of this and the subsequent releases have been outstanding. A decade on we are excited that the 10th release of Tio Pepe En Rama has now reached our shores and we are proud to have pioneered a whole new category within Sherry.
